And with the help of Amanda Sefton/Magik and nurse Christine Palmer, he finds the truth : a coven of devil-worshippers sacrificed the children in order to set fourteen demons free. Fourteen demons who were once the personal guards of Lucifer Morningstar. But the last one is still trapped in Seth's body. With the help of the X-Men, Nightcrawler saves the day. Seth is safe, and the demons are trapped into fourteen tiny clay statues. Which become Amanda Sefton's favourite ornament in Limboes. Solving this case, Nightcrawler becomes the X-Men's resident paranormal investigator.
